RENDERING, POINTING AND INTERIOR PLASTERING
We use traditional horse haired mortars and lime skims and modern insulating lime renders and plasters. The use of lime in historic structures requires any repairs or remedial work to be lime based to compliment historic methods of masonry of construction. Before hard cement and cavity walling became the standard in the 20th century walls were of a solid construction with porous lime mortar. Traditionally buildings were built to allow the property to ‘breathe’, allowing moisture to enter and leave naturally without reaching the interior . Using modern materials which are designed as a barrier can trap moisture in the porous core of the wall causing the masonry to become saturated and result in damp issues internally.
CARPENTRY AND BESPOKE JOINERY
From replacing large sections of Oak to detailed fret work we cover all aspects of timber. Using our highly skilled tried and tested techniques we are able to provide all aspects of carpentry in the conservation field along with modern alternatives from timber frame buildings and roofs, right through to hanging doors and furniture, all the while complimenting the historic building.
ROOFING AND LEADWORK
We are experienced in all aspects of roofing from an entire replacement to simply sourcing matching slates. Working closely with local reclamation yards we can offer a tile matching service to ensure any replacements are as lose a match if not identical. Even large expanses of lead can be repaired and replaced.
STONE CONSERVATION
We have extensive experience of stone conservation, from lime mortar stone repairs and random stone walling to lime mortar identification and colour matching. We can also build and carve from scratch.
TIMBER WINDOW REPAIRS
As well as offering full timber window repairs we specialise in the use of the Window Care System , a unique, cost effective and durable alternative to the replacement of traditional wood windows or expensive joinery repairs. First developed in the Netherlands, this unique system enables us to repair rotted window frames in situ, retaining as much of the existing window as possible.
THERMATECH, VORTECH PAINT REMOVAL AND MASONRY CLEANING SYSTEMS
We are fully trained in the use of both Thermatech and Vortech paint removal and masonry systems.
TIMBER CONSOLIDATION AND PEST CONTROL
We offer a wide range of timber conservation services, from the eradication of woodworm and death watch infestations, to rotten timber consolidation and floor board restoration.

We have the necessary resources and experience to not only provide expert craftsmanship but also manage the entire project, from arranging Permits, Licenses and Sub-contractors to communicating directly with Architects and suppliers ensuring all parties work methodically and efficiently to minimise cost and disturbance to your home.
