C17 grade II listed former public house with early C19 extensions. Rendered in a very thick and strong cementitious render that was cracking in many places causing internal damp problems, timber decay and inherent damage to the building fabric.
Work carried out
The cement render was carefully removed using hand tools only to minimise damage to the brickwork underneath. The building was then rendered in a lime mortar leaving any surviving timber exposed and a mineral silicate paint applied.
